The Board is committed to the promotion of equality and to tackling discrimination on any ground, including age, disability, gender, race, religion or belief and sexual orientation.
We have produced an overarching Equality Strategy that sets out the approach we will adopt to comply with all the equalities legislation and strive for good practice as an employer and service provider.
Since we published our Equalities strategy we have published separate schemes which show how we intend to meet our general and specific duties. Each scheme sets out the actions the Board is taking to tackle discrimination and promote opportunity.

We are keen to hear the views of our stakeholders on our approach to Equality the priorities we have identified and how you think our policies or functions impact on equality. We would appreciate your time to complete our online questionnaire covering our equalities strategy and individual schemes.
Our Equal Opportunities policy
The Board is committed to providing equal opportunity in employment. No job applicant or employee will be treated less favourably on the grounds of gender, race, colour, religion, nationality, age, disability, sexual orientation or marital status; nor will they be disadvantaged by conditions or requirements which cannot be shown to be justifiable. This policy will be followed in the recruitment, reward, training and promotion of both new and existing employees and will apply to the application of grievance, disciplinary or other procedures, the provision of employee benefits and all terms and conditions of employment
You can find out more about our equality policy for recruitment in our information pack which is available in our jobs section.
