II.5) Short description: The Scottish Legal Aid Board is seeking expressions of interest from solution providers wishing to be considered for the tender list for the above project.

The current situation presents a number of communication business issues, which the awarding authority wish to address through the DMS project.

This project is key to delivering the board's e-government strategy and modernising agenda. The Scottish Legal Aid Board is seeking a strategic partner to work on this project and it's future development and support. The overriding objective

for this project is to facilitate a document management system, which can process applications and related correspondence, effectively and efficiently within an e-business environment. The solution should be capable of interfacing with existing board systems and infrastructure specifically Oracle e-business suite on an HPUX platform.

The solution must be capable of meeting the board's changing needs, the United Kingdom's e-government requirements and open industry standards.

It is the board's intention to issue a single tender covering the following areas:

scanning hardware;

software to allow for document management solutions;

storage solution;

support and maintenance - hardware and software;

training;

Document management system. Software programming and consultancy services. Document management services.
