Short description of the contract or purchase(s):
The Scottish Legal Aid Board is seeking expressions of interest from solution providers wishing to be considered for the tender list for the below project. The Scottish Legal Aid Board currently relies on the majority of its servers having directly attached storage and traditional backup to magnetic tape on a daily basis. To increase the flexibility of the infrastructure to support its expanding e-business services and future projects, the Board is looking to introduce a centralised storage management solution. This solution is likely to incorporate:
-A central storage array with a minimum of 2 Terabytes of storage but capable of expansion to at least 6 Terabytes.
-The ability to "snapshot" data to a point in time across multiple systems and create copies of data for use in test and development environments.
- Phased inclusion of up to 20 servers, mainly HP9000 HPUX and Novell NetWare but with support for Linux and MS Windows.
- A second storage array at a remote site providing mirroring of data over a 100 Mb link (provision of remote link and site are not included in this tender)
- Provision for using the second array as the core of a completely mirrored e-business solution. The tender will include: i)Specification and Design of an initial solution
ii) Supply, configuration and installation of hardware and software
iii) Migration of existing data
iv) Maintenance of the delivered system for up to 3 years
v) Guidance on making best use of the storage management solution in the Board's Business Continuity plans.
vi) Training Suppliers who have already responded to the Prior Information Notice OJEC Ref (2005/S 137-135801/EN) do not need to note any further interest. |
