About the information shown
The amounts shown are rounded to the nearest £100. You should read our notes below explaining the information shown.
Firm earnings
This table shows what we paid to solicitors' firms between 1 April 2008 and 31 March 2009. It includes BACS payments transferred to the firms' bank accounts and cheques issued during that period. In some cases, money we have paid to a firm may have been returned to us. If the payment and the repayment happen within the same year, they will cancel one another out. However, if a firm has repaid us money in a year later than the original payment, they may be shown as having been paid a negative figure.
Advocates
This table shows what we paid to the Faculty of Advocates for each advocate between 1 April 2008 and 31 March 2009. It includes BACS payments transferred to the Faculty's bank accounts and cheques issued during the period. In some cases, money we have paid to the Faculty may have been returned to us. If the payment and the repayment happen within the same year, they will cancel one another out. However, if an advocate has repaid us money in a year later than the original payment, they may be shown as having been paid a negative figure.
