Recruitment process underway for new Board members

Tuesday, Nov 14, 2017

We are recruiting four new members to join our Board. We are looking for people with backgrounds from the wider community, the advice sector, the business sector as well as solicitors and advocates.

SLAB is responsible for managing the legal aid system and advising Scottish Ministers on its strategic development. The funding we provide allows people who would otherwise not be able to afford it to get help for their legal problems. Board members are responsible for determining SLAB’s strategic direction and scrutinising the organisation’s expenditure, performance and general corporate governance. Board committees are in place to deal with areas such as audit and risk, legal aid policy and complex, sensitive or high profile legal aid cases.
