New lawyers and legal aid
Legal aid is important. Without it, many people would not be able to get the legal help and advice they need. Legal aid helps thousands of people every year to get legal help from their solicitor.
The legal profession are our valued partners in delivering legal aid services. We are working with them to improve how legal aid works. That means cutting bureacracy, making changes to make the legal aid system easier to run and trying new ideas to impvoe our service.
We also want to help encourage the next generation of lawyers to work in legal aid. We are developing our communication and training strategy to help and support solicitors and firms that undertake legal aid work.
