Civil Legal Assistance Offices
We run four Civil Legal Assistance Offices. These operate in a similar way to private solicitors' firms but the solicitors are employed by the Board.
If you are eligible, they can advise and represent you and apply for legal aid on your behalf, just like a solicitor in a private firm or in a law centre. They do not deal with criminal cases.
You can find out more at the Civil Legal Assistance Office website. As well as being able to give advice and represent you, one of the services provided by the offices is that if a person in the area cannot find a solicitor in a private solicitors' firm to act for you, the office can help you find one. Or if it is not possible to find one, they may be able to take on the case.
