The availability of increases for pre-Hearing visits

Reporters encourage children to have a pre hearing visit to show them where the hearing will take place and where they wait before the hearing starts.

Unless exceptional circumstances can be demonstrated, we will not grant you an increase to accompany a child to a pre hearing visit and for any associated introductory meeting with the Reporter or SCRA staff as there is no legal content involved in such a visit and no legal decision to be made or advice to be given. Someone else such as their parent, carer, advocacy worker or social worker is likely to be more suited to accompany the child if they chose to visit the hearing centre prior to a hearing taking place.
