Solicitors registered to provide legal aid services are subject to a quality assurance scheme. This means that periodically their work is reviewed by a peer reviewer, who is another solicitor trained to do quality assurance reviews.
The civil quality assurance scheme is managed by the Law Society of Scotland.
You can find out more about the requirements of the scheme on their website.
