Appeals against decisions of children’s hearing

We will normally allow an increase of £250 to:

  • Consider the written reasons of the panel
  • Discuss the terms of any appeal with your client
  • Submit the application for children’s legal aid

If your client appeals the decision of the children’s hearing, legal aid is then available (if they are eligible) to prepare and conduct the appeal.  We will not grant increases in advice and assistance for preparing the appeal including the drafting of the Grounds of Appeal themselves.  You can apply to us for special urgency cover before the application is determined.
