Join our Board: recruitment process underway for five Board Members

Scottish Ministers are looking to appoint a new legal member (Faculty of Advocates), a legal member (Law Society of Scotland), one member with court experience and two non-legal members to our Board.

The new appointment terms will commence from 1 April 2026.

The closing date for applications is 1pm on 12 January 2026.

It is essential that our Board has the benefit of skilled and experienced individuals with specialist knowledge, professional perspective, insight, and commitment to contribute to its role of overseeing our performance and setting our strategic direction.

Board Recruitment Event

Changing the Chemistry will be hosting an online event at 6pm on 8 December, where you can find out more about the roles and the Scottish Legal Aid Board from our Chair, William Moyes, Chief Executive, Colin Lancaster, and current Board Members.

There will also be a Q&A session where you can put your questions to the panel.
