Review leads to improved and accessible letters for civil applicants and opponents

Improved and more accessible letters that we send to applicants and any named opponent(s) in a civil legal aid application are to be rolled out from Monday 22 March.

These new letters follow a review aimed at increasing the accessibility of our letters to members of the public, including those with a sight disability or whose first language is not English.

Among the accessible features used are a larger font size, plain English and improved formatting and layout.

These new letters are the first in our programme to improve all our civil letter templates.

They will be rolled out in small batches and over a 1-2 month period beginning on Monday.

We welcome any feedback from you or your client. This should be sent to communicationsupport@slab.org.uk.
