Keycards for 2023-24 published including new Criminal summary

The Keycards for 2023-24 have been published on our website. They are effective from Monday 10 April 2023.

What’s changed?

Dependants’ disposable income allowances have increased. However there have been no further changes to any of the other financial limits or contribution amounts.

The Keycards have been updated to show the new disposable income allowances of £48.50 per week for partners (£2,529 per annum) and £77.78 per week for dependants (£4,056 per annum).

These updates have been applied ahead of changes to the upcoming Regulations to increase solicitor’s legal assistance fees and Authorised Expenditure limits, which come into force on 29 April 2023.

The Keycards will be updated again to reflect this.

Three Keycards

We are now publishing three Keycards, split by the three main legal aid types:

These can be used for quick reference when you require information on the various eligibility limits, contributions and clawback levels, where applicable.
