New LAOL screens and guidance for Criminal Justice (Scotland) Act 2016

We have prepared guidance for changes that are being made to the Legal Aid Online system during the evening of the Wednesday 24 January.

As a result of the implementation of Part 1 of the Criminal Justice (Scotland) Act 2016 on Thursday 25 January we have created new online screens to allow solicitors to register:

  • Police Station/Custody advice applications
  • Criminal Justice ABWOR applications

How do I create a Police Station/Custody Advice Application?

To create a police station/custody advice application, click on the ‘CJA’ tab then select ‘Police Station/Custody Advice Application’:

Selecting ‘Police Station/Custody Advice’ will display the online application:

How do I create Criminal Justice ABWOR Application?

To create a CJA ABWOR application, click on the ‘CJA’ tab and then select ‘CJA ABWOR Application’:

The application will then be displayed

You should complete the mandatory fields marked ‘*’. You can use the tabs to navigate and move to the next screen:
