Aaliya joined SLAB in 2026 after seven years as Chief Executive of the Legal Services Agency. Her career has focused on social welfare law advice across the advice sector and law centres.
Her previous roles include Director of Customer Journey at Citizens Advice Scotland and Chief Executive at Airdrie CAB, alongside management, development and direct advice roles with organisations including the Ethnic Minorities Law Centre and Immigration Advisory Service.
Aaliya also brings board and volunteering experience. She is currently a Commission Member with the Scottish Human Rights Commission and a member of the Law Society of Scotland’s Access to Justice Committee.
