New additional fee available at Easter holiday courts

Easter custody courts are due to be held on Saturday 16 April 2022 in the following locations:

  • Glasgow & Strathkelvin – Glasgow Sheriff Court
  • Grampian, Highlands & Islands – Aberdeen & Inverness Sheriff Courts
  • Lothian & Borders – Edinburgh & Livingston Sheriff Courts
  • Tayside, Central & Fife – Falkirk, Kirkcaldy & Dundee Sheriff Courts
  • North Strathclyde – Paisley Sheriff Court
  • South Strathclyde, Dumfries & Galloway – Airdrie & Ayr Sheriff Courts.

Additional £80 fee for solicitors representing an accused person appearing from custody when doing so on a court holiday

The Legal Aid and Advice and Assistance (Miscellaneous Amendments) (Scotland) Regulations 2022, which came into force on 1 April 2022 also introduced an additional fee of £80 to solicitors representing an accused person appearing from custody when doing so on a day which has been designated a court holiday.

These fees can be claimed for cases at the Easter Holiday custody courts on Saturday 16 April 2022.
