Notification of publication of Records Management Plan

We have published our Records Management Plan for 2021.

Background

Under the Public Records (Scotland) Act 2011 (“the Act”) Scottish public authorities must produce and submit a records management plan (“the Plan”).

The Plan must set out proper arrangements for the management of an authority’s public records to the Keeper of the Records of Scotland (“the Keeper”) for his agreement in accordance with the Act.

Records management is vital to the efficient delivery of our services. The primary aim of the Act is to promote efficient and accountable record keeping.

SLAB Records Management

Our Plan describes the way we manage the records we create and hold in all formats, supported by policies, procedures and guidance for staff.

We are committed to monitoring the effectiveness of the Records Management Plan.

The Plan and all related policies and procedures are subject to ongoing monitoring and review. This is to ensure that they remain up-to-date, take account of any new or changed legal requirements, best practice and business needs.

In accordance with the Act, we submitted our Records Management Plan to the Keeper, which was approved and published on Friday 5 February 2021.

Our plan can be downloaded below, and is available on our Access to information page.
