Policy and decision-makers’ guidance published for assessing the merits of a children’s ABWOR application

We’ve published our policy and decision-makers’ guidance (DMG) for assessing the merits of a children’s ABWOR application.

This is the funding type for representing adults and children at children’s hearings and in some related court cases.

The policies and guidance on our GALA website are intended primarily for our decision-makers for:

  • assessing the factors we take into consideration in ABWOR applications and
  • detailing the information we take into account and the decisions we take as a result of that information.

Our approach to these applications is not changing and our existing legal aid guidance for Children’s solicitors on our  website remains the same.
