Reminder: Keeping LAOL secure – ScotAccount login change to go-live this evening

To increase the security on our systems we are introducing Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for users of Legal Aid Online (LAOL) this evening.

System downtime

The LAOL system will be unavailable for up to one hour from 7pm this evening to allow us to implement the system updates.

Preparing for the move to ScotAccount

It is important that you check the email address that is currently listed for your LAOL user account before we go live with ScotAccount. You will need this email address when creating your ScotAccount.

We have created a video that explains how you check and – if necessary – update the email address we hold for you. You can find the dedicated ScotAccount page on our website.

Recordings are available to help you step by step through the ScotAccount process.

Visit our website where you will find guidance videos to help you check that your details on LAOL are up to date, how to update them, if required, and the new login process.

Join our ScotAccount webinars

We are holding webinars on the move to MFA and using the ScotAccount login process. We will answer any questions you have on the move.

Extra daily webinars: From today we are holding our webinars daily at 11:30 until Friday 17 April. In these, we will walk you through the new multi-factor authentication process.

There will also be two webinars at the following times:

  • Tuesday 21 April 4pm
  • Thursday 23 April 11:30am

We will review the situation after that and hold further webinars if required.

Details of how to join the webinars will be given on the banner when you log into LAOL.
