PVG registration requirement for the children’s duty scheme

All solicitors registered for the Children’s Duty Scheme must be PVG registered in terms of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.

The Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 governs this Scheme which:

  • Can bar individuals from working with children if that person is named on a maintained List
  • Contains all conviction information , spent and unspent about a recorded individual
  • Contains any other non-conviction information of relevance to the police or other Government bodies about a recorded individual
  • Updates individual scheme records and notifies all interested parties in the event of any change to that record

We are classified as an interested party.
