Legal Assistance Cases Committee

The purpose of the Legal Assistance Cases Committee is to consider:

  • any application for legal aid to raise proceedings against the Scottish Legal Aid Board
  • such other cases as may in exceptional circumstances be referred to it by the Cases Panel.

Cases Panel

The Cases Panel is a group of three senior SLAB staff convened for the purposes of considering applications (including review applications) which the Head of Civil and Children’s Legal Assistance considers require further escalation.

In exceptional circumstances the Cases Panel will refer a case to the Legal Services Cases Committee for a decision.
