Special urgency and prior approval applications: usual prior approval procedure applies

While carrying out urgent work under regulation 18 of the Civil Legal Aid (Scotland) Regulations 2002, you can apply for prior approval for:

  • The employment of counsel
  • Employment of an expert
  • Work of an unusual nature
  • Work likely to involve unusually large expenditure

You should follow the usual procedures for applying for prior approval.
