Children’s Duty Scheme – 28th September 2015 to 26th June 2016 plan now available

Thursday, Sep 10, 2015

The Children’s Duty Plan for the next 9 months of 2015-16 is now available for viewing on our website (see below). This plan covers the period 28 September 2015 to 26th June 2016.

Applications for the duty plan will only have been considered where both the application form for children’s duty and PVG registration of at least one member of that firm has been confirmed by Disclosure Scotland by the deadline on 28th August2015 and in the date order in which they were received at SLAB.

You should check the dates that your firm has been allocated during the period 28th September 2015 to 26th June 2016. If dates have been allocated to you which you are unable to cover, you must inform us by the close of business on Monday 21st September 2015 to allow us to make alternative arrangements.

Unless we receive notification that your firm is unable to provide cover on a specified date(s), we will expect your firm to provide cover on the dates allocated to you. These may include Bank, Public and Local holidays. If you subsequently become aware of any reason you will not be able to provide cover you should tell us as soon as possible.

For details of the statutory provisions relating to the children’s duty scheme and information on the current payment arrangements for duty scheme solicitors, please see the eligibility criteria.
